A chance meeting with a war colleague ropes Major Manson Hadley into the Gallipoli campaign. The strategy was sound, however the lack of initial support and the underestimation of Turkhye preparedness, the campaign gets off to a disasterous start. As the campaign runs its course, Major Hadley develops a disdain for upper command as life after irreplaceable life is lost in the blistering heat. Slowly eroding Major Hadley's loyalty and convictions, a retreat is eventually sounded bringing the disasterous campaign to an end.

The Galipoli Campaign opens up as an ambitious attempt to weaken the Ottoman Empire (Sick Man Of Europe), opening up the shipping lanes through the Dardenelle shipping strais in the process. The ambitious plan of Winston Churchill, the First Lord of the Admiralty faces several servere challenges resulting in the death of 250 000 serviceman with the campaign ending in the ANZAC withdrawl.
